The favorite hat...well worn ...with each occasion character adds to the charm and function of one's favorite hat...16x20 acrylic on linen...and here I left the linen as environment... as wearing linen is the perfect companion for the hat.... rain or shine....good times.....

Chasing Butterflies... also entitled Playing Outside With A Friend.... is a reminder to Play...and the importance of outdoor play in our lives.... I first painted this image for the Fairhope Intermediate School ...from the request of Ricky Trione and Vicky Nix Cook to paint a 48x48 piece for the school... and decided this is an important message.... as we learn while playing.... the response was so positive that I painted a second piece and this is it....36 x 48.... acrylic on canvas.... Since eggs are a recurring theme for me , this image evolved .... the egg on the branch ( a delicate balance...life is change ) into the egg delicately balanced , cracked , and the emerging figure....then the title just fell into place.... 6x12" acrylic on linen.... a birthday surprise....
