When beginning a painting I never know exactly what the final image will look like.... this concept began with the bow of a small boat... as I painted the water splashing ...it dawned that the tide was indeed high... and I went with it ....as it added a surprise element...then it came rushing back that ...now...not living on the water...I was out of touch with the timing of the tides....time and tides continue their rhythms unconcerned with my inattentiveness....this painting is a reminder....painted on wood...12x18... rope surrounds the frame...
